The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) participated in the GreenCities Mayors’ Meeting 2026, organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London on June 22–23, 2026. IMM was represented by the Department of Financial Services, the Department of Environmental Protection and Control, and the Directorate of Foreign Relations. The summit focused on climate finance, alternative financing models, and international investment opportunities, providing a platform for the IMM delegation to hold strategic meetings with international financial institutions and investors. As part of the program, IMM delivered a financial and technical presentation of the Sustainable New Data Centre project, developed under the Istanbul Green City Action Plan (GCAP). Discussions also covered opportunities to expand external financing for Istanbul’s priority investment projects, enhance access to international funding, and strengthen long-term strategic partnerships.
