We Issued USD 580 Million Eurobonds

As the Finance Department, we sold the first US$ 580 million Eurobond exported abroad after 33 years. The Mayor of IMM, Ekrem İmamoğlu spoke at the press conference held on the promotion of the sale. Before İmamoğlu’s speech, the leader of the team that realized the historical sale, Turgut Tuncay Önbilgin, Deputy Secretary General of IMM, and Hande Kayacık, Legal Advisor of Deputy Secretary General, Finance Director Dr. Rezzan Neslihan Vural, Financial Analyst Serra Mandacı, Assistant of Deputy Secretary General Elif Karabay and Director of Strategic Asset Management Ozan Şakar were invited to the stage. We succeeded in issuing the first unsecured Eurobond of 580 million USD with a maturity of 5 years to international capital markets for the project financing of 4 metro lines, namely Kaynarca-Pendik-Tuzla, Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli, Kirazlı-Halkalı and Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir.

Our bond issue on Wednesday, December 2; It attracted great interest from global investment circles, especially in Asia, Europe and America. For the first time in Türkiye after 33 years, a municipality has issued Eurobonds.

The Mayor of IMM, Ekrem İmamoğlu stated at the press conference that 248 investor institutions from around the world showed interest in the sale and stated that they received 4 times more demand than the target. İmamoğlu announced that construction will start on 4 metro lines thanks to the money earned.
