Organized annually by the EBRD, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the event was held this year in Vienna, the capital of Austria, with the title of “Green Cities Annual Conference 2022”. Representatives of the private sector as well as Public Institutions attended the conference. Our municipality was represented by the delegation consisting of Finance and Environment Teams.
The purpose of the conference; It can be summarized as the evaluation of new resources and opportunities that can be applied for the project-based financing needs of Cities/Institutions by offering new alternative financial products to the innovative technologies and strong infrastructure investments and potential projects of “green cities”.
In addition to contributing to and participating in panels/sessions at the Conference was held on October 20-21, many one-on-one meetings were held.
Accordingly;
- Studies have been carried out on how to implement possible financial products/instruments in the management of our municipality’s high-cost investments.
- Alternative financial resources that can be provided for the green city, environment and innovative technologies of our municipality were evaluated.

We have left the conference and the organization with satisfaction. It has been a valuable visit for us to evaluate the compliance and cost of new instruments with our legislation together with the actors of this business, and to consider alternative sources in the financing management of our investments. The presence of Representatives from different Institutions, the Organization contributed to more productive event.
